The Ministry of Finance in Eswatini has appointed Ms. Babhekile Matsebula as the new Director General of the Eswatini Financial Intelligence Centre (EFIC).
Honourable Minister of Finance, Neal Rijkenberg, praised Ms. Matsebula’s extensive qualifications, which include dual law degrees, a Master’s in Financial Management, and certifications in anti-money laundering. With 15 years of executive experience in financial regulation, she has previously held leadership positions at Eswatini Bank and the Financial Services Regulatory Authority.
Minister Rijkenberg expressed confidence in her ability to lead the EFIC, stating that her skills and leadership would be instrumental in strengthening the country’s compliance with international financial standards. He also noted that this appointment reflects the government’s commitment to placing competent professionals in key roles to safeguard the nation’s financial system.
