Mafutseni,— The E20 million Nkonga Galp Petroport was officially opened yesterday at Mafutseni.The opening marks a significant milestone in local business development. This E20 million filling station, owned by Muzlin Investments,a joint venture between businessmen ,Thulani Xaba and Fanie Mthethwa,promises to enhance the energy landscape in the area.
The opening ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Senator Chief Ngalokhulu Mabuza of Mafutseni, Galp Eswatini Managing Director Bruno Lourenço Marques, and Galp’s International Marketing Representative Jorge Carvalho, along with former Governor Majozi Sthole, local business people, staff, and community members.

In his address, Chief Ngalokhulu emphasized the importance of leveraging this new development to foster further growth along the Mafutseni-Manzini corridor, envisioning the creation of a vibrant town that capitalizes on the increased economic activity.
Bruno Lourenço Marques highlighted Galp’s extensive network, mentioning that the company now operates 1,500 service stations and has been in the business for nearly 150 years. He praised Nkonga Petroport as a facility that stands out for its beauty and innovation, reaffirming Galp’s commitment to quality service.
The owners of Muzlin Investments took a moment to express their gratitude during the ceremony. Thulani Xaba thanked his business partner, Fanie Mthethwa, for their collaborative spirit in bringing this venture to life. Xaba remarked on the necessity of positive collaborations among Emaswati, noting that while there are often negative perceptions of partnerships, constructive teamwork can lead to the success of Swazi businesses.
Fanie Mthethwa, the majority shareholder at Muzlin Investments, revealed that the Petroport features three tanks with a total capacity of 105 000 liters. He reiterated the potential for local enterprises to thrive through hard work and collaboration.
