Manzini: Oukitel in Eswatini sponsors One Lilangeni campaign with a C36 Smartphone for a competition prize.

As means of encouraging more individual donors to donate towards the One Lilangeni Campaign, SOS Children’s Villages has launched a donation competition, whereby individuals who have donated the most money, will be eligible to receive prizes through a raffle draw.

The organization sought out to get competition prize give aways from corporates and companies and was lucky to have a successful engagement with Oukitel in Eswatini, who offered a gracious donation of a smartphone and further partnered with the One Lilangeni Campaign.

During a meeting held at the SOS Children’s Villages National Office, Esihle Dlamini, the marketing executive said, “ We were touched to see the beautiful and meaningful work done by SOS, in taking care of the vulnerable children of Eswatini. It was therefore our desire to donate a smartphone to the organization, for them to run a competition. Furthermore, 5% percent of the sales for all our gadgets bought through the SOS network, be it individuals, Corporates or NGOs, goes to SOS Children’s Villages”.

The Oukitel business analyst, Zanzi Nxumalo said -We are happy to sponsor the One Lilangeni Campaign and  we wish for a long-lasting relationship, because we know that the children, they are raising will grow to understand the Oukitel brand and attach to it. For us, giving to SOS is a future investment and we are happy to do it.

We are very happy to partner with Oukitel and we hope that many other organizations can support the One Lilangeni Campaign, as it seeks to raise funds for the vulnerable children in our care. We humbly request other organizations to sponsor the campaign with more giver away prizes for the competition, said Temalangeni Dlamini, the Communication’s Coordinator.  

The Competition-DONATE TO RAISE A CHILD!

The One Lilangeni competition will run from 1st February -29th February 2024. The aim of the competition is to raise atleast E 10 000.00 from individual givers, who will donate towards the campaign. High donors/givers will be evaluated at the end of the competition and will stand a chance to win the smartphone, through a raffle draw.

The campaign

One Lilangeni campaign is a fundraising initiative aimed at

improving the lives of children in need. It seeks to mobilize organizations (corporates, institutions, cooperatives, associations) and individuals to donate, at least, one Lilangeni to ensure that no child grows up alone.

Donations through the One-Lilangeni Campaign are not limited to cash donations only but also include Strategic donations of E1/product unit sold or produced by the corporate/organization and donations in-kind/products and services.

“The children who are in our care do not belong to SOS Children’s Villages; they belong to all of us. They belong to you and me; Emaswati, bantfwabetfu. Please help us to raise them. Please help us to enable them to become responsible members of society in the future. Please walk with us. Please contribute to us financially or in kind so that we can together make a difference and positive impact in their lives, families, and communities.”

  • SOS currently has 288 children in the three villages. 3213 children and youths being assisted in communities under the Family strengthening programmes.
