Mbabane: The Eswatini Rugby Union is planning its first workshop as expected and it is urging all clubs to assist with any ex-players or club administrators who are very much keen on being part of rugby development in various areas of training and development.

Also, they are requesting clubs to keep their players in good shape as they are still waiting for a green light from Sports Council on when to resume their activities.

The workshop would be held on Saturday, starting at 09:30m at Malkerns Country Club. The workshop will be focusing on training the participants on the return to training both for individuals and at club level and how to play under the prevalent Covid -19 conditions.  And there will be a session where health experts will teach rugby teams about managing the risk of contracting Coronavirus. Each club is required to send a coach, Medic, administrator, and player representatives.

Eswatini Rugby Union Secretary, Bonginkosi Dlamini said failure to attend the workshop by any club will render that particular club ineligible to resume training and subsequently play when the government sports bodies’ permits such. He added that attendees and participants will be required at all times to adhere to Covid-19 prevention measures during the workshop which will be conducted strictly under the WHO and government Covid- 19 regulations currently in place in the country. He added that each club’s co-operation in that regard would be greatly appreciated.
