African Alliance opens 1st West Pack Lifestyle store at Malkerns Square

Official opening of West Park Eswatini at Malkerns Square

Mbabane: African Alliance has officially opened the West Pack Lifestyle Express store, the very first of its kind in the Kingdom of Eswatini.

The new shop is located at the newly established Malkerns Square shopping complex and it was officially opened on Thursday.

With more than 60 West Pack stores across Sub-Saharan Africa, West Pack Express Malkerns will meet the growing need by shoppers for better value for money products for the home, business, schools, churches, small businesses and catering sectors.

The new store, situated at Malkerns Square in Malkerns, will add a new world class brand to the iconic residential and commercial estate. The store will be managed by Sharon Dlamini, who has significant experience in retail and who will be joining West Pack from Pick n Pay Mbabane to lead the new West Pack Express Malkerns team.

Speaking during the grand opening of the shop, the African Alliance Group Partner Sithofeni Ginindza said the group is excited to open this new and very first of its kind in the Kingdom. Ginindza said as an organization they believed that in as much as there is the COVID-19 pandemic they did not sit back and relax, saying all is doom and downside.

Ginindza went on to highlight on the Eswatini Post COVID-19 Recovery Plan that was launched by the government in the past few months. He said as the Recovery Plan came through with the E30 billion package, E23 billion is supported by the private sector while the E7 billion is from the public sector which is the government.

Ginindza said as an organization they believe that a sustainable economy is that one led by the private sector. Ginindza said the Malkerns Square for them is a sustainable investment as African Alliance Group has been opening a numerous outlets in the area, which includes Pick n’ Pay and KFC.

Early November, the group also opened Pick n’ Pay Clothing at the Gables, Ezulwini.  

Ginindza said the group is also looking forward into opening the KFC drive-thru which is almost complete in Mbabane. Ginindza said the food outlet will be opened soon. He said there are still more investments coming with the group.

Ginindza further stated that the group has hired over 2000 Emaswati in all their businesses within the country.
