Mbabane – The late Minister of Home Affairs, Her Royal Highness Princess Lindiwe, will be accorded a State Funeral in recognition of her service to the nation.
Government announced the funeral arrangements yesterday, confirming that a State Memorial Service will be held this Friday, September 25, 2026, at Jesus Calls Worship Centre in Matsapha, starting at 10:00 a.m.
The State Funeral will follow on Saturday, September 26, at the Kasaro family home in Sidvokodvo, commencing at 6:00 a.m. The funeral will be preceded by a night vigil service at the family home.
The arrangements were announced in a press statement issued by Acting Deputy Prime Minister S’khumbuzo Dlamini on behalf of Government.
Government said the State Funeral was being accorded to Princess Lindiwe in honour of her service to the nation.
Princess Lindiwe, who served as Minister of Home Affairs from 2018 until her death, passed away on September 17, 2026, following a short illness while receiving medical care.
Her death brought mourning to the Royal Family, Cabinet, the Church and members of the public, with tributes highlighting her years of public and Christian service.
The choice of Jesus Calls Worship Centre for the State Memorial Service is significant as Princess Lindiwe was also a prominent leader within the church. She was involved in the leadership of the church together with her husband, Apostle Robert Kasaro.
Following Friday’s memorial service, mourners will proceed to the Kasaro family home in Sidvokodvo for the night vigil before the State Funeral on Saturday morning.
Government also announced that a Condolence Book has been opened at the Ministry of Home Affairs, inviting members of the public to sign in support of the Kasaro family during the mourning period.
The Acting Deputy Prime Minister Extended Government’s condolences to Their Majesties, the Royal Family, the Kasaro family, Jesus Calls Worship Centre and all those who knew and loved Princess Lindiwe.
