MALKERNS – The Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival has unveiled an exciting lineup of local fashion designers who will showcase their creativity at the 2026 edition, reaffirming the festival’s commitment to promoting Eswatini’s growing fashion industry.

The announcement was made during the official launch of the festival, where organisers introduced ten designers who will bring this year’s fashion theme, “Kwasukasukela (Once Upon a Time),” to life through collections inspired by African heritage, storytelling and contemporary design.

The featured designers are Wellie Dlamini of Wels Crafts, Calvin du Pont of Adonis Threads, Nomfundo Simelane of Karo Textile, Thando Ndlangamandla of Tash Creations, Zikode Zwane of Flow Wearz, Kwenzie Zwane of BlackDegree, Zen Shiba of Zerushi, Batfobile Dlamini of Batfobile Edit, Sinakekelwe Mhlanga of Uniq_ility, Philile Nkwanyana of Philz Creations and Nothando Dlamini of Rose Peti.

Speaking during the launch, organisers highlighted the importance of providing local designers with platforms that expose their work to regional and international audiences. Through Luju, designers are given opportunities to network with industry leaders, connect with potential buyers and position their brands beyond Eswatini’s borders.

The festival has become a key platform for nurturing the country’s creative economy by empowering emerging and established fashion entrepreneurs while celebrating authentic African design.

This year’s fashion programme forms part of Luju’s broader vision of showcasing Eswatini’s creative excellence through fashion, food, music and culture.

The 2026 Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival will take place on 1 and 2 August at House On Fire in Malkerns, marking the first time the festival will be held over two days. Organisers say the expanded programme will offer more opportunities for local creatives and entrepreneurs to showcase their work while giving visitors an immersive African lifestyle experience.

Under the theme “A Return to the African Future,” the festival promises a celebration of culture, creativity and innovation, with local designers once again taking centre stage.
