MBABANE – A 28-year-old man from Sinyamantulwa is recovering from injuries after he was allegedly kidnapped, robbed, stabbed and extorted of E80 000 by a gang of five men in a dramatic ordeal that unfolded between Mkhaya and Lubulini last week.

The incident, which is now under police investigation, occurred on June 16, 2026, at around 8:30pm.

According to information released by police, the victim had been travelling from Manzini after purchasing a grey Toyota LDV valued at E150 000. While driving through the Mkhaya area near Siphofaneni, he allegedly noticed that he was being followed by another vehicle.

The suspects reportedly blocked his path and forced him to stop. Upon approaching the vehicle, they allegedly shattered all its windows before attacking him. The ordeal continued until around midnight when the suspects arrived at the victim’s home in Sinyamantulwa. Police said the gang allegedly took a further E70 000 from the victim before finally releasing him.
