A 22-year-old woman from Dlangeni has been arrested and charged with arson after allegedly setting her boyfriend’s house ablaze at Buhlebuyeza.
According to police, the incident occurred in the early hours of June 17, 2026. A 30-year-old man reported that his one-room house, valued at E45 000, together with household property worth E30 800, was destroyed by fire.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the couple had allegedly been involved in an argument while working in fields at Nyonyane earlier that day. It is alleged that at around 3pm, the suspect left the victim and later went to Buhlebuyeza, where she set his house on fire.

Police have since arrested the woman and charged her with arson. Investigations into the matter are continuing.
