Cross-border tournament combines soccer with social impact
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The beautiful game is set to transcend boundaries this weekend as the Shali Masters present the highly anticipated Cross-Border Tournament, a unique event bringing together talent from across the region to the Lobamba Technical Centre on June 6, 2026.

While the tournament promises high-intensity soccer action featuring teams such as Brothers for Life (KZN), ESK Masters (KZN), Phalaborwa United Masters (Limpopo), Mafutseni Social (Eswatini), and Simunye Social (Eswatini), the heart of the event lies in a noble initiative that aims to change lives beyond the final whistle. Worth noting is that, this event is proudly supported by Instacash Eswatini.

In a powerful demonstration of community responsibility, the organizers have confirmed that the Shali Masters will be donating much-needed school shoes to a school in Kashali. This charitable gesture seeks to remove barriers to education and provide learners in their community with the essential equipment needed to walk to school with comfort and dignity.

Instacash Eswatini Managing Director, Mandla ‘Cheeks’ Nxumalo, emphasized the importance of the company’s involvement in such grassroots initiatives. “At Instacash, we believe that our role extends far beyond providing digital financial solutions,” said Nxumalo. “Supporting the Shali Masters in this noble cause is close to our hearts. We are committed to fostering financial inclusion, but equally, we are committed to the social upliftment of our communities. Seeing these athletes come together not just to compete, but to ensure that the children of Kashali can attend school with pride, is the true spirit of partnership.”

The tournament is scheduled to kick off at 09:00 AM, and fans are encouraged to attend to witness the competitive matches and participate in an atmosphere of solidarity. As the teams prepare to battle for the trophy, the real victory will be felt in the classrooms of Kashali, where this donation will help ensure that many students can continue their educational journey with renewed confidence. The event serves as a reminder that when sports organizations, local businesses, and the community align, the impact on the next generation can be profound and lasting.
