Prince Prince Lindani and OACPS Secretary General Moussa Batraki have praised His Majesty King Mswati III’s leadership.
Prince Lindani delivered a heartfelt address during the dinner reception held at the ICC Ezulwini Palazzo, describing the ongoing EU-OACPS gathering as historic and reporting significant progress in the deliberations taking place.
Speaking as Head of Delegation and a messenger, Prince Lindani said he was pleased to report that “the spirit of the King was alive in every room”, noting that delegates had engaged in serious and, at times, fierce debates on reforms affecting member states.
He said guests attending the gathering had witnessed the peace and stability that exists in Eswatini, while also looking ahead to the next day’s discussions, which would focus on education and opportunities for young people.
Prince Lindani expressed hope for a future where African youth would have their passports stamped “not out of desperation, but out of opportunity and purpose.”
The Prince also shared a personal moment with delegates, revealing that he had become a father of three following the birth of a baby girl earlier in the morning, drawing warm applause from attendees.
Meanwhile, Moussa Saleh Batraki, Secretary-General of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States, praised King Mswati III for Eswatini’s hosting of the gathering, describing it as a reflection of the kingdom’s continued contribution to global diplomacy and peace-building.
Batraki said Eswatini continued to be regarded as “a respected voice for peace”, adding that at a time when the international community was facing uncertainty, King Mswati III’s voice remained one of reason and inspiration within the organisation.
He further applauded the King’s leadership in mobilising financial support for the OACPS, revealing that His Majesty spearheaded a fundraising campaign that raised millions of Euros.
According to reports the campaign exceeded its original €10 million target, raising more than €12.8 million (approximately E255 million) in support of the organisation.
