Lobamba : King Letsie III has described King Mswati III’s 40-year reign as a rare and extraordinary achievement, underscoring a legacy of resilience, stability, and enduring leadership.
Speaking during celebrations marking Mswati III’s 40 years on the throne and his 58th birthday, Letsie III said serving faithfully for four decades reflected an unwavering commitment to the people of Eswatini. He emphasized that such longevity in leadership was not only historic but also a testament to the King’s dedication in steering the country through complex socio-political challenges.
“His Majesty has provided calm and stability in an era often defined by volatility,” said Letsie III, adding that the milestone stood as a symbol of resilience and endurance for both the monarch and the nation.
The Lesotho monarch said it was a privilege to join emaSwati in commemorating the landmark occasion, noting that the celebration resonated beyond Eswatini’s borders. He highlighted the strong and warm relations between the Kingdom of Lesotho and Eswatini, describing them as bonds rooted in shared history, mutual respect, and cooperation.
Letsie III reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and working closely with Eswatini in addressing common challenges. He said the spirit of solidarity between the two nations remained a vital pillar in advancing regional stability and development.
