MALKERNS – The much-anticipated fifth edition of the Makoti Festival is shaping up to be its biggest yet, with organisers promising an electrifying celebration of music and culture on 02 May 2026 at the scenic Malkerns Country Club.
This year’s instalment boasts an impressive blend of local and regional talent. Recently unveiled artists include Stella Jacobs, DJ Cup, Mco Jamrock, Lyrikal Busta, Young Zesh, AS4 JerryP, True Classic group, Sancheziey and the highly anticipated Sarnilo.
Sarnilo, born Ntando Samketi Dlamini, could not hide her excitement about joining the 2026 lineup. She reflected on her first Makoti Festival experience, which was headlined by Sjava.
“The first time I attended Makoti Festival it was headlined by Sjava and the energy was on another level. I didn’t even want to leave. To learn that I will be one of the reasons people don’t want to leave this year is more exciting. I’m super excited this time around,” she said.
The multi-talented singer, songwriter, rapper and poet revealed that she will be performing with a live band, promising fans an unforgettable set. She also teased exclusive, unreleased songs that festivalgoers will hear for the very first time.
Taking a moment to acknowledge the organisers, Sarnilo expressed gratitude for the platform. “There are not a lot of opportunities for artists, so this platform is really necessary, and I’m grateful for the opportunity,” she shared.
Sarnilo’s star continues to rise beyond Eswatini’s borders. In September last year, she represented the country at Spotify Africa Writing. In 2024, she made history as Spotify’s Best Fresh Find and shared a career-defining moment on stage with global icon Wyclef Jean during an exclusive jam session. Born to a Malawian mother and Swati father, she seamlessly blends SiSwati and Chichewa in her music, creating a distinctive and resonant sound.
The festival’s regional appeal has also grown, with South African Maskandi sensation Feza Langa, known for the hit “Umanqondana,” and Italian artist De Picat added to the bill. Mozambique’s launch introduced Liloca, Mulinde and DJ Dilson, while the Mbombela rollout featured host Phindy The Real Queen alongside Geenger, Mpho Less and Mdu Aka TRP.
With more artists still to be announced, the fifth edition of the Makoti Festival promises a vibrant showcase of Southern Africa’s diverse musical talent.
Music lovers are urged to mark their calendars for 02 May 2026 and prepare for an unforgettable experience at Malkerns Country Club.
