The Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology, through the Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM), celebrated youth graduates of the Youth Digital Skills Programme at the Ezulwini Community ICT Centre yesterday.
The programme registered 1,702 young people, with 1,327 attaining certification and 342 completing the full curriculum. Over 77% of participants successfully achieved certification, reflecting commitment and determination among the youth.
The ESCCOM CEO said during the ceremony: “Today, we celebrate commitment, growth, and opportunity. We gather not merely to award certificates, but to recognise determination, resilience, and the courage of young people who have chosen to invest in themselves and their futures… These numbers matter because meaningful universal access to ICT services is about more than connectivity. It is about capability.”
The achievement was supported by partners including the European Union, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Eswatini National Youth Council (SNYC), MTN Eswatini, Wanderport, and the leadership of the Ezulwini Umphakatsi.
With the Ezulwini Community ICT Centre transitioning to full community use, officials said this marks the start of sustainable, community-led digital empowerment.
Graduates were urged to continue learning and applying their digital skills to develop their own futures and support others in their communities.
