The piece of land at Mhlabubovu whose residents are alleged to have been illegally allocated alleged

Mbabane: A prince at the LaMgabhi Chiefdom assured that as the LaMgabhi community they will give support to the ex-MP through and through.

The prince who asked not to be named due to the on-going land dispute between the LaMgabhi and Luyengweni chiefdoms said it would be irregular if anyone residing within the community would withdraw their support for the ex-minister as he did not fight for himself but the whole community.

The prince was quick to say that by so saying he should not be misunderstood to be condoning violence, but that the ex-minister came in and stood for what belonged to his chiefdom. He stated that it was unfortunate that the matter ended in the death of individuals but that somehow he could see it coming. The prince mentioned that history has shown that land disputes have ended in bloodshed, which is why they should be tackled by the roots and dealt with.

Most LaMgabhi residents who spoke on condition of anonymity shared the same sentiments as the senior prince saying for many years they had been treated with disregard by the Luyengweni chiefdom, who did as they pleased without any care for even higher authorities. *Titi said the attitude of the LaMgabhi chiefdom is humility and it is sad that the Luyengweni chiefdom has taken advantage of such a good virtue, which has unfortunately backfired.

“As residents under the LaMgabhi chiefdom we have avoided bloodshed unlike other neighboring communities like KaLuhleko where chieftaincy disputes have ended in the loss of life,” said Titi.

Titi reiterated that they would back up the ex-minister and they were ready to help where necessary, adding that after the shooting incident they met in groups and talked about how to come in assist the ex-minister.

On the other hand, residents of LaMgabhi interviewed by Independent News stated that they did not threaten to do anything to the ex-minister’s complex situated at Mhlabubovu. They said this would be the last thing in their mind as they, as the ex-minister, had had enough of the Luyengweni chiefdom’s interference in LaMgabhi. *Titi, whose matrimonial home is LaMgabhi said in fact, they would do anything to protect the minister or his property while incarcerated. Dlamini was found at the Umphakatsi with another woman talking about the incident.
