Mbabane – The Royal Eswatini Police Service has arrested three men believed to be behind a string of robberies and housebreaking incidents in areas under the Sidvokodvo and Matsapha precincts.
Police said the suspects, aged 31, 35 and 34, come from Egebeni, Lobamba and Mphini. They were apprehended by Matsapha police on the morning of February 18, 2026, at different locations following what investigators described as an extensive probe. The trio has been charged in connection with two cases reported in Matsapha, one involving robbery and another housebreaking and theft.
In the robbery incident, police allege the suspects attacked a 47 year old woman from Dwaleni on January 3, 2026 at about 3am. Armed with knives, they reportedly robbed her of property valued at E83 000.
In a separate housebreaking case, the men are accused of breaking into the home of a 54 year old woman from Boyane at around 3.55am on February 2, 2026. They allegedly gained entry through a window and stole items worth E20 620.
Investigators have also linked the suspects to three robbery cases under the Sidvokodvo precinct dating back to December 2025. In the first incident, on December 16 at about 2am, a family in Nhlambeni was attacked at knifepoint and robbed of property valued at E156 500.
Police further allege that on December 20 at about 11pm, the suspects robbed a 29 year old man from Nhlambeni of property worth E22 310 while he was in the Njelu area, again using knives. About three hours later on December 29 at around 2am, a 37 year old man from the same area was attacked and robbed of household items valued at E53 000.
The suspects have since made their first appearance in court.
