MBABANE The former curator, Bimal De Silva, has confirmed the payment of E250 000 to Messers SV Mdladla and Associates.
This publication sent a WhatsApp text message to the former curator seeking clarity on whether he made the alleged payment, the purpose of the payment and the amount involved.
“Yes, there was an agreement to pay SV Mdladla. Please contact Manqoba, the attorney, he will brief you I believe. We paid him E250 000 and then we were to pay E50 000 to avoid summary judgement from the courts.”
Bimal further confirmed that the payment was a repayment of an investment after Messers SV Mdladla and Associates had filed a court application with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority.
When asked whether he believed this was a viable way for investors to recover what was due to them, the former curator responded, “I’m not sure.”
