Moscow – The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the United States carried out a military action against Venezuela early this morning. Moscow described the move as unjustified, saying the explanations given lack factual basis and reflect ideological hostility rather than practical diplomacy.
The ministry called on all parties involved to resolve disputes through dialogue and avoid further escalation. It stated that Latin America should remain a zone of peace and that Venezuela must have the right to determine its own future without foreign military interference.
Russia reaffirmed support for the Venezuelan government’s efforts to protect national sovereignty and said it stands ready to assist in diplomatic efforts. The ministry also confirmed that the Russian Embassy in Caracas is operating normally and that there have been no injuries among Russian nationals.
Venezuelan authorities, along with leaders from other Latin American countries, have requested an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council to address the situation.
