Mbabane – The MulaSport National First Division has witnessed a dramatic resurgence in fan attendance, with stadiums across the country drawing record numbers during the opening stages of the 2025 season, signalling a renewed connection between the league and its supporters.
Figures released by the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) show that the opening week of the 2025 campaign attracted more than 1,500 supporters, a sharp rise from the roughly 200 fans recorded in week 1 of the 2024 season. The surge marked an extraordinary turnaround and set a positive tone for the new season.

The momentum has been sustained beyond the opening round. Over the first nine weeks of the 2025 season, combined attendance has already exceeded 4,000 supporters. By comparison, the total attendance from week 1 to week 9 in 2024 stood at just over 1,500, underlining the scale of the league’s growth within a year.

The PLE has attributed the renewed interest largely to the impact of MulaSport’s sponsorship and support. Increased investment, enhanced visibility, and confidence in the division’s potential have helped raise the profile of the league and improve the overall matchday experience.

Officials believe the rising numbers reflect more than improved marketing, pointing instead to a stronger bond between clubs and their local communities. The growing presence of fans at venues has also contributed to a more competitive and vibrant atmosphere for players and officials alike.

With attendance continuing to climb, the PLE has expressed optimism about the future of the MulaSport National First Division, describing the current trend as a strong foundation for long-term growth and sustainability of domestic football.
