Manzini – A 33-year-old man from Masekweni has been arrested and charged after allegedly stabbing and killing a 37-year-old neighbour in the early hours of Sunday, according to the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS).
The incident occurred in the early hours of 30 November 2025 at around 3:30am. The deceased and a friend were walking home from a drinking spot in Moneni when they reportedly met the suspect. Without any provocation, the suspect is said to have suddenly attacked the 37-year-old man, pulling out a knife and stabbing him twice in the neck.
A neighbour who heard the commotion rushed out to assist but was also stabbed in the chest. He survived the attack.Community members told police that the suspect often becomes violent when intoxicated and is known for carrying a knife and intimidating residents in the area.
Police officers responded swiftly to the scene and arrested the suspect, who has since been charged. He is expected to appear before the Manzini Magistrate Court today.
