Mbabane – The British High Commissioner to Eswatini, His Excellency Colin Wells, has been updated on the Kingdom’s latest efforts to tackle climate change through the third edition of the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 3.0).

The briefing took place at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) offices in Mbabane, where the Director of Meteorology under the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Ms. Duduzile Nhlengethwa-Masina, presented Eswatini’s progress ahead of the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30). The global climate summit is scheduled to be held in Belém, Brazil, from 10 to 21 November.

Eswatini recently became one of the first ten countries to submit its updated NDC to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The document outlines the country’s renewed commitments to reducing emissions and building climate resilience.

The NDC process was made possible through the UNDP Climate Promise initiative, with financial support from the British Government, working in collaboration with the NDC Partnership and the UN Eswatini country team.
