Maseru – The Youth Hub Connekt Lesotho has joined the global community in celebrating International Pharmacy Week, running from 20 to 25 October, paying tribute to the critical role pharmacists play in improving public health.
Under the theme “Think Health, Think Pharmacist,” the organisation acknowledged that pharmacists are central to the healthcare system, serving as more than medicine dispensers. It said pharmacy professionals are trusted health advisors who ensure the safe and effective use of medications, contributing significantly to stronger and more sustainable health outcomes for Basotho.
Across Lesotho’s hospitals, clinics, and community health facilities, pharmacists continue to serve on the frontlines of care, offering expertise that supports patients and strengthens the broader health system.
The Youth Hub Connekt stated that it remains committed to connecting institutions and projects with skilled pharmacy personnel in the country. It invited hospitals, research centres, and health organisations to collaborate through recruitment and employment opportunities, public health partnerships, and professional consultancy.
