Luyengo – The fitness group Go Hard or Go Home celebrated its fifth anniversary on Saturday by supporting women and children at the Mawelawela Correctional Centre, showing that true strength goes beyond physical fitness to acts of compassion and service.

The outreach brought together over 120 members of the fitness group, female officers from the country’s three security forces, and members of the Matsapha community. Donations included training attire, sneakers, and personal care items such as soap, lotion, roll-on, sanitary pads, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. The gifts aimed to support daily hygiene and well-being while encouraging active living, discipline, and personal development among the inmates.

Assistant Superintendent David “Sfuba” Dlamini, founder of Go Hard or Go Home, said the initiative is part of the team’s mission to use their collective strength for social good. He acknowledged that government resources are limited and noted that communities must play a role in uplifting those in need.

Dlamini explained that Mawelawela was chosen as the starting point for the outreach because it represents home for many women on a journey of transformation. He said the initiative reminds inmates that society cares about their potential. The outreach also coincided with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, adding significance by promoting women’s health and empowerment.
