Build One SA, the GOOD Party, and Rise Mzansi announced the formation of a new political movement, Unite for Change, at a media briefing in Rosebank, Johannesburg, on Sunday. The party will contest the 2026 local government elections under a single banner, though the three parties will continue to exist independently for now.

The initiative aims to provide South Africans with a unified platform focused on ethical leadership, job creation, improved service delivery, and inclusive governance. Bosa leader Mmusi Maimane said the movement invites citizens to take part in shaping the country’s political future.

GOOD Party leader Patricia de Lille described Unite for Change as more than a political party, calling it a step toward inclusion and encouraging young people to participate in building a better South Africa.

Rise Mzansi leader Songezo Zibi called for a reset of political leadership, stressing the need for vision, integrity, and generational renewal. He said the movement belongs to South Africans, not just the leaders of the constituent parties, and criticised current leadership for mismanagement and weak institutions.
