Mbabane – Great Wall Motors has introduced its new entry-level P300 SX in South Africa, officially replacing the P Series nameplate in the process.
The P300 SX completes the line-up of the P300 range, sitting below the LS, LT and LTD models. Unlike its siblings, the SX does not feature the new 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine and instead continues with the older 2.0-litre diesel producing 120kW and 400Nm.
The model is available in both single and double cab formats, with the choice of a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic gearbox. Buyers can also select between rear-wheel drive or part-time four-wheel drive.

On the exterior, the SX comes with a redesigned bumper, mesh-pattern grille, halogen fog lights, daytime running LED headlights and 17-inch alloy wheels. Its towing capacity is limited to 2 250 kg compared to up to 3 500 kg in higher trims, while ground clearance sits at 227 mm.
Inside, the SX retains the older P Series layout. Standard equipment in the single cab includes a two-speaker sound system, Bluetooth, air-conditioning, electric windows, black fabric seats, multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, dual airbags, traction control and Hill Start Assist. The double cab version adds four airbags, Downhill Assist, rear parking sensors, extra speakers and, in automatic variants, keyless entry, push-button start and paddle shifters.
The SX is offered in six colours—white, black, grey, Pittsburgh Silver, Swarovski Blue and Mars Red. Each purchase comes with a seven-year or 200 000 km warranty and a seven-year or 75 000 km service plan.
Pricing begins at E414 950 for the single cab and goes up to R537 950 for the double cab automatic 4×4. Higher trims in the P300 line-up range between E529 900 and R699 900.
