Luve, Manzini Region — Luve residents in the Manzini region are battling a deepening water crisis following the breakdown of the main pump that served the area under Chief Mphelave.

The pump, which supplied clean water to households across the rural community, has been out of service for several months. Families are now forced to rely on rivers and streams that are both far away and unsafe for drinking.

The broken pump that once supplied clean water to Luve residents remains unrepaired for months.

“We have to wake up before sunrise and walk long distances to fetch water,” said one resident. “It is not safe, especially for children and the elderly.”

Community leaders have reported the issue to government departments and appealed to non-governmental organisations for urgent intervention. However, the pump remains unrepaired despite earlier promises of assistance.
