Mbabane – A faction Africa Evangelical Church (AEC) praise and worship conference that was held at Nyandza High School since Thursday has been halted by the High Court and 15 of the church pastors face jail time for defying a previous order stopping the gathering.
This follows the new contempt of court order issued by High Court Judge John Magagula against Terrence Mthethwa, Andrew Dlamini, Joseph Dlamini, Bheki Nxumalo, Meshack Dlamini, Takhona Dlamini, Mgadlela Henry Stewart, Mfundi Dvuba, Dumsani Mabuza, Douglas Sihlongonyane, Dumsani Dlamini, Kenneth Lukhele and William Dludlu, the 15 respondents, in that order.
They are called upon to serve a seven-day jail term on contempt of court charges.
The faction is accused of proceeding to schedule and promote messaging of a parallel an unlawful conference from Thursday to Sunday.
Another faction which lodged an urgent application through the AEC Rev. President Meshack Xolani Dladla, is holding the conference at KaBoyce High School.
Judge Magagula pronounced the Nyandza High School conference gathering unlawful and invalid.
