Ezulwini – The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade has officially opened a World Customs Organisation Rules of Origin training at the Eswatini Revenue Service Headquarters.

Principal Secretary Melusi Masuku said the workshop is part of Eswatini’s African Continental Free Trade Area Implementation Strategy, which focuses on building capacity for officials involved in trade facilitation. He noted that understanding and applying Rules of Origin is essential to confirm the nationality of goods and ensure exports qualify for preferential treatment in regional and international markets.

Masuku added that trade is a backbone of the Eswatini economy and that proper application of these rules supports domestic production, job creation, and fair participation in global trade. He urged participants to use the training to improve practical implementation in their work and thanked the facilitators for their support.
