Ezulwini– Derrick Shiba, president of Nsingizini Hotspurs FC, told guests at the launch of the club’s monthly television show, Insingiz’Yezulu, that the initiative marks a turning point for football in Eswatini and across Africa.

The event took place on Friday evening in Ezulwini and was attended by the Honourable Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Muzi Bongani Nzima, members of both houses of Parliament, Eswatini Football Association officials, Premier League representatives, business leaders, and football supporters.

Insingiz’Yezulu will be broadcast on SuperSport International, reaching audiences in 52 African countries and the Middle East. Shiba described the show as a milestone for the club and a platform to promote African football stories and culture.

“Our story as Nsingizini Hotspurs is one of growth, determination, and vision. From winning the Momo Cup to lifting the MTN Premier League trophy in only three years, and now appearing on continental television, we have shown what is possible when passion meets opportunity,” Shiba said.

He encouraged other clubs to embrace media and storytelling as tools to grow the game commercially and culturally. Using the Super Bowl as an example, Shiba explained how televised sports can generate significant revenue, attract sponsors, and boost local economies.

“Football is not only a sport. It is business, entertainment, and culture. When we package our stories and broadcast them widely, we create value that corporates want to be associated with,” Shiba said.

Shiba also called on corporate partners to invest in football, saying, “Partnering with football is partnering with passion. It ensures your brand reaches further, resonates deeper, and stays longer in the minds of consumers.”

The launch, supported by MediaMora and SuperSport, aims to inspire other African clubs to invest in media, content, and visibility. Shiba thanked sponsors, supporters, and fans for their continuous backing, saying their passion drives the club’s achievements.
