Maseru – Lesotho’s Ministry of Information, Communications, Science and Technology welcomed the Chinese Ambassador, His Excellency Yang Xiaokun, on a tour of the Lesotho National Broadcasting Services (LNBS) on 21 August 2025.
Minister Honourable Nthati Moorosi led the visit, which included tours of radio and television newsrooms, studios, and meetings with LNBS staff. She was joined by senior officials, including Principal Secretary Kanono Ramashamole, Director General Mrs. ‘Maleloko Nkhahle, Operations Director Dyke Sehloho, and Chief Engineer Tlali Manosa.
Moorosi said the visit comes as the Lesotho government prepares to construct new broadcasting offices and studios, with support from China expected to complement this year’s budget for the project’s early stages.
Ambassador Yang Xiaokun, representing the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), described the tour as productive. He pointed to China’s previous contributions to Lesotho, including Maseru District Hospital and the National Library, and expressed confidence in continued cooperation. The ambassador also praised LNBS staff for properly maintaining broadcasting equipment donated by China.
