Mbabane – Fisokuhle Dlamini has apologised to her boyfriend, lawyer-in-training Sibulelo Jele, and removed social media posts alleging abuse. She told Jele she was angry and not thinking clearly when she shared photos of her bruised face and the accompanying messages, adding that she still loves him and wants to repair their relationship.
Jele provided his account in a sworn affidavit, stating that a struggle between him and Dlamini led to her sustaining an eye injury. He said the incident followed a tense weekend beginning on Friday, July 25, when he returned to his rented house in Mvakwelitje, Mbabane, before going out for drinks at Albert Millin with friends. Jele said he tried to keep in contact with Dlamini, but she did not return home or respond to calls that night.
According to Jele, Dlamini returned the next day with a friend to collect her belongings, but he refused to entertain them. On Sunday, she reportedly located him at a car wash after a neighbour shared his whereabouts. He alleged she was intoxicated, insisted on going to his house, and bought more alcohol on the way.
Jele said the argument resumed at his home after Dlamini accused him of cheating, refused to leave, and attempted to take a cigarette from his pocket, tearing his trousers. He claimed she slapped him, pushed him against a window, and grabbed his neck, prompting him to swing his arm to defend himself, striking her eye.
