Matsapha- The Prime Minister (PM) Russell Dlamini has pledged to increase chaplaincy services in the police service to address the rising cases of suicide among officers.

The PM in his capacity as the Minister of Police, said the move is aimed at providing more support to officers facing emotional and mental health challenges. He was speaking during the 22nd Police Day and pass-out parade.

The pledge comes after two police officers committed suicide in July, shooting themselves death with their service pistols.

Dlamini said the government is committed to improving the welfare of police officers and ensuring that they have access to the necessary support systems.
