SNAT poll shows teachers back 4% pay rise

Mbabane — Teachers across Eswatini are strongly in favour of a 4% salary increase, according to a recent poll by the Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT).

Over 1,600 educators participated, with 95% supporting a pay adjustment similar to the one recently granted to security forces.

Many teachers say their work and contribution to the country’s development warrant recognition comparable to other public service sectors.

The survey comes as discussions continue over public sector wage adjustments following the second phase of raises for security personnel.
