Nhlangano – Around 200 Emaswati are expected to gain employment when the new Jonnson Workwear factory is handed over at the end of August.
Commerce, Industry and Trade Minister Manqoba Khumalo visited the factory site this week to assess progress. He said the investor is satisfied with the construction quality and confirmed that work is on schedule.
The factory, located in Nhlangano, is part of the government’s push to reduce unemployment and improve livelihoods. Minister Khumalo said the project is a direct response to calls made during the Sibaya People’s Parliament for more job-creating investments.
He added that once operational, the factory will position Eswatini as a leading centre for workwear production in the region.
