MBABANE – A 24-year old man tragically drowned in Manzini while another was fatally assaulted in Nhlangano and died over the weekend, Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Phindile Vilakati said.
“On Saturday, July 6, at around 4:30 PM, a 24-year-old man tragically drowned in the Mahlabanyoni River near Nsenga in Manzini. His sudden death left a community in shock and sorrow,” Vilakati said.
Earlier, on Friday night, at about 10:30PM, a violent incident occurred at the VatVat bar in Ekuphumuleni No1 Township, Nhlangano resulting in a 33-year-old man from Nyamane being brutally attacked by unknown people.
The deceased died while receiving treatment at the Nhlangano Health Centre. He was hit with a beer bottle and kicked multiple times on the head. The police are still investigating the murder.
The police report did not reflect any fatal road accidents.
