MBABANE – In 24 hours, “Asibambaneni Sibengumndeni”, the new reality TV programme which aims to address family disintegration and promote family reconciliation efforts, particularly child neglect, is set to debut on Eswatini TV and the Eswatini Broadcasting and Information Services (EBIS), the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office (DPMO) Principal Secretary, Siboniso Nkambule, said.
“This initiative is more than just television. It is a national call to action and an invitation for Emaswati to reflect on what it means to be a united, accountable family,” said Nkambule.
Nkambule on Monday, in the company of Under Secretary (US) Makhosi Simelane, and other senior officials, said they were finalising logistics and affirmed the programme’s readiness for national broadcast.

“Asibambaneni Sibengumndeni” will begin airing this month, weekly, at 20:00 on Wednesdays. There is a repeat slot on Sundays at 18:30.
Each episode will run for 30 minutes, offering viewers insightful, real-life depictions of families navigating and overcoming various social challenges. The series highlights issues such as parenting, emotional support, and conflict resolution, aligning with the DPM’s broader commitment to enhancing the quality of life through social support and moral development within households.
Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla’s involvement reflects the importance of addressing family-related challenges, particularly in the wake of growing societal pressures and hardships that impact many vulnerable children.
