The Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) made several arrests across the country between 19 and 25 May 2025 in connection with cases ranging from stock theft and land fraud to murder and drug possession.
At Lozitha near Matsapha, two men aged 32 and 24 from Mbikwakhe and Mhlaleni respectively were taken into custody for allegedly stealing two cows worth E34,000. The animals were reportedly taken from a kraal and slaughtered in nearby bushes.
In a separate incident, police at Lubuli arrested a 75-year-old woman from Phophonyane for her alleged involvement in the murder of a 45-year-old man. The body of the victim was discovered at Maloma Enhlonhlweni covered with a blanket, with both legs broken and a deep wound on the forehead.
In Manzini, five men aged between 37 and 66, from Tikhuba, Ezulwini, Nyakeni, Kwaluseni and Lomahasha, were arrested after allegedly selling land at Fair View worth E49,000 under false pretences. Police say the land was not for sale.
Also in Fair View, two men from Sicelwini, aged 31 and 39, were arrested in connection with a housebreaking and theft case involving goods valued at E61,000.
Meanwhile, in Mankayane, four suspects aged 26 to 38 from Malangeni were found in possession of 129 kilograms of dagga. They were arrested at Dwalile for allegedly having the illegal substance without a licence or permit.
Police say investigations in all cases are ongoing.
