MALKERNS – MTN Eswatini Board Chair, Nomphumelelo Dlamini, has called on employees and partners to embrace this year’s 21 Days of Y’ello Care campaign with renewed passion, urging a stronger connection between digital progress and real community needs.

Speaking at the launch of the company’s flagship social investment programme on Wednesday, Dlamini reflected on her early days at MTN and the pride that came with taking part in outreach efforts.

“Y’ello Care brings back memories of wearing the yellow shirt and stepping out with purpose, passion, and pride,” she said, addressing stakeholders gathered in Malkerns.

The campaign, which runs annually across MTN operations, is this year anchored on the theme “Connecting at the Roots through Digital Platforms.” Dlamini said the focus speaks directly to MTN’s approach to growth—driven by innovation but grounded in the needs of ordinary emaSwati.

Through its partnership with the Ministry of ICT, MTN has played a pivotal role in advancing the “Government in Your Hand” strategy, an initiative aimed at improving access to public services through mobile applications. The app, developed by local tech talent, has been lauded as a milestone in Eswatini’s digital journey.

“We are no longer just consumers of technology,” Dlamini said. “We are contributors, creators, and change-makers.”

While celebrating the power of digital solutions, she warned against neglecting the basics. Access to water and road infrastructure, she said, must remain a priority alongside tech-driven efforts.

MTN’s integrated approach—blending infrastructure support with digital rollout—reflects a broader commitment to inclusive development, particularly in underserved communities.

She praised partners for their continued collaboration and challenged MTNers to give their best in this year’s campaign.

“Let us go the extra mile so that we reclaim the MTN Group President and CEO’s Grand Prize and reinvest that prize back into our communities where it matters most,” she said.
