Nsingizini Hotspurs have stormed into Eswatini football history books after claiming their first-ever MTN Premier League title with a dominant 5-0 victory over Sidvwashini United.
The title-clinching match unfolded on Sunday afternoon in front of jubilant supporters as the Shiselweni-based outfit crushed their opponents at Mavuso Sports Centre. The emphatic win saw Nsingizini become the first club from the region to lift the elite league trophy, and remarkably, they achieved this feat in only their second season in top-flight football.
Ayanda Gadlela broke the deadlock in the 58th minute, sending Nsingizini fans into celebration. Eight minutes later, Sambulo Simelane doubled the lead, capitalising on a defence that struggled to contain the attacking flair of the Hotspurs.
Regaan Kambungu made it 3-0 in the 77th minute, and Mvuselelo Mthethwa quickly followed up with a fourth just three minutes later. Simelane, already on the scoresheet, returned in stoppage time to complete his brace and cap off a five-star performance.
Despite Royal Leopards putting up a strong challenge by defeating Green Mamba 3-0 on the same day, their efforts were not enough. The title slipped through their fingers as Nsingizini’s superior goal margin and spirited campaign sealed the championship.
