MBABANE – A celebration of African identity, unity, and the call for justice is set to take centre stage at the Eswatini Theatre Club on Saturday, 24 May 2025, as the African Women’s Peace and Development Foundation (AWPDF) hosts its Africa Day Food and Cultural Festival.

Running from 10am to 6pm, the event is being organised under the banner “Atibuye Emasisweni – Let Us Return to Our Roots,” and will draw attention to this year’s continental theme: Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations.

AWPDF’s Eswatini chapter says the festival is designed to reconnect emaSwati and other African communities with their cultural heritage, while also sparking critical conversations around historical injustices and the ongoing global movement for reparations.

The festival will feature a rich lineup of live performances, art exhibitions, traditional music, and dance, with a special showcase of heritage-inspired African fashion. Visitors will also get a taste of traditional cuisines prepared by African diplomats.
