The Eswatini Higher Education Council (ESHEC) met with representatives of Religious Academic Institutions and Denominational Post-Secondary Training Institutions across the country on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, to strengthen collaboration and clarify registration and accreditation processes.
Held as a stakeholder engagement session, the meeting created space for dialogue between the Council and key players in faith-based education. Representatives from various institutions gathered to better understand the procedures required to officially register and accredit their institutions and academic programmes under ESHEC’s oversight.
The engagement, which took place in Eswatini, aimed to build stronger ties with religious educational bodies while ensuring their operations align with national higher education standards. Participants were able to raise concerns, pose questions directly to the Council, and receive detailed responses about regulatory expectations.
ESHEC, which oversees quality assurance and policy in the higher education sector, noted the importance of such forums to foster transparency and accountability in the growing number of post-secondary institutions operated by religious organizations.
