Mbabane – The Luke Commission (TLC) director Echo Nomsa VanderWal shared some heart-felt goodbyes by the organisation’s staff.
“𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠𝙨 𝙨𝙤 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜. 𝙄𝙣 𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙩, 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. 𝙄𝙩’𝙨 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙨𝙖𝙙. 𝙄 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙏𝙇𝘾 𝙖 𝙡𝙤𝙩.”
This is a message that was posted by VanderWal on her Facebook account on Thursday.
VanderWal shared that she had had a difficult moment in the morning during the farewell session of staffers.
“Saying goodbye to staff whose contracts cannot be renewed due to financial constraints is 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠. They are not just colleagues—they are 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲. They have poured their hearts into serving 𝐕𝐈𝐏𝐬, and now they must leave the place they have called home,” she said.
She said she had no choice but to watch as “more staff exited.”
VanderWal said emotions were high as one of the former staffers said: “𝙄 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙜𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙩𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙡 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥. 𝘽𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙖𝙮, 𝙞𝙩’𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙪𝙨, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙙𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥.”
VanderWal said it was a heavy loss of staff.
She said many of the staff believed that 𝐓𝐋𝐂 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞.
“In our lifetime, we never thought we would work with such a 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬, 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐲-𝐤𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐬. Their 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 ❤️, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 🙌, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 💪—are irreplaceable,” she said, sharing a verse from scripture:
“𝘠𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘷𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶. 𝘖𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘣𝘦 𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘖𝘯𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶.” – 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘸 5:4
