Eswatini has officially launched Earth Hour 2025 under the theme “Advancing Climate Justice: Sustainable Energy Transitions for Developing Nations – The Eswatini Experience.” The event, marked by Principal Secretary Lindiwe Mbingo on behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Lonkhokhela, focused on climate justice for developing countries disproportionately impacted by climate change.

Hon. Minister of Natural Resources and Energy emphasized that Earth Hour is not just a symbolic event but a global movement. It aims to unite governments, businesses, and individuals to address urgent environmental issues such as climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss.

The government is urging all Eswatini residents to participate by switching off non-essential lights and appliances for one hour on March 22, 2025, with a call for continued commitment to sustainable living beyond the event.
