Mbabane: The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Pholile Shakantu yesterday afternoon officially launched a new cottage factory for women and persons with disabilities at Ntondozi Inkhundla.
The project, set up by Business Women Eswatini and worth E300 000, will see women and persons with disabilities sewing Phatsa Sakho Nawe bags, which will be distributed to leading retailers.
Minister Shakantu said, “This is a remarkable effort by Business Eswatini to change the complexion of our mainstream economic landscape to involve more women, young people, and persons living with disabilities.”
Minister Shakantu continued, “I would like to thank all the sponsors, especially the Vukani Bomake project, whose mantra has now become a familiar clarion call for all women, in every village, to get up and take personal responsibility for their own situation.”
Business Eswatini Chief Executive Officer (CEO) E.Nathi Dlamini highlighted, “The organization does not take donations but we encourage investments because we are in the business of multiplying what has been sewn to benefit the next person.”
Apart from Minister of Justice Pholile Shakantu poses also present was the executive of Business Eswatini, Business Women Eswatini, and Eswatini Tourism Authority at the launch of a cottage factory for women and people with disabilities.
Persons with disabilities are the major beneficiaries of the Ntondozi cottage factory.
