Big bend – A 30-year-old Sibetsaphi man was allegedly stabbed in the neck after a known man accused him of testifying against him in court following his arrest last year.
The incident happened in the Phumlamcashi area on September 3, 2026, at about 7pm.
According to the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS), the victim and the suspect met at a local bar, where an argument reportedly broke out.
It is alleged that the suspect accused the victim of having testified against him in court during proceedings linked to his arrest last year.
The argument allegedly turned physical, with the suspect assaulting the victim before stabbing him once in the neck with a sharp object.
The suspect is known to the victim.
Although the incident occurred on September 3, a formal case was opened with Big Bend Police on September 8 at about 3:30pm.
Police have since launched an investigation into the matter, which has been classified as an attempted murder case.
Investigators are working to gather evidence and establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged attack.
