The founder of Believers in Christ Proffesor Muzi Mshengu Tshabalala has donated 29 blankets to senior citizens. The beneficiaries are of church members and also not BIC members.
The good initiative took place at Mpolonjeni in Bethel Christian Church headquarters where the church was honouring the founder through its Founder’s Day service. Mpolonjeni Member of Parliament Wilton Nkambule was also part of the guest, he is also the founder of Bethel Christian Church.
According to Tshabalala his vision is that the church must play a huge role to senior citizens through taking care of them. He stated that blessings are from them, they have worked hard in the church during their youth and adult satege when they reach elderly stage they are without the energy.
In some cases after they have served so much in the church and community they found themselves being neglected. Worse part when they pass away their funeral does not honour them at all, this is heartbreaking .
“There are those who started our zion churches and passed away leaving Widows behind and those Widows are not looked after” he stated. After a research done by his foundation BMMT which means Bishop Muzi Mshengu Tshabalala they found that senior citizens in the church and society are neglected thus making them to face a difficult life at elderly stage. That’s where the foundation steps in to provide the needs for them.
During the donations , Tshabalala stated that in the country there will be elderly people who will be identified by Senior Pastor Zanele Lukhele who will be the coordinator of the the initiative. According to him every elderly person will benefit from the initiative no matter you go to church or not.
