MBABANE – Eswatini-born singer, songwriter, actress and celebrity make-up artist Nomzamo ‘Zamo’ Dlamini continues to soar to new heights after receiving a prestigious continental honour that celebrates young African leaders making a significant impact in their respective industries.
Zamo was recently recognised at the Africa Under 40 CEOs Summit and Honors 2026, held on June 20 at The Capital on The Park Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa. The annual awards celebrate exceptional African entrepreneurs, executives, innovators and business leaders under the age of 40 who are driving change through leadership, innovation, business excellence and community impact.
The entertainer described the recognition as a deeply humbling moment, saying it reaffirmed that she is walking in her purpose.
“My business has always been about making people feel beautiful, both inside and out. Receiving this recognition while representing Eswatini made it even more special because it showed me that the work I’ve been doing is being noticed beyond our borders,” she said.
Although she has built a thriving beauty brand, Zamo admitted the journey has not always been easy. She said the beauty industry is highly competitive, with new artists entering the profession regularly, but remaining consistent since launching her career professionally in 2015 has been key to her success.
She also credited God and the mentors who have supported her journey, saying they helped her overcome moments of self-doubt and continue growing her brand.
Away from the beauty industry, Zamo remains focused on her music career following the release of her latest album earlier this year. She is currently concentrating on live performances and believes her music is timeless enough to continue resonating with audiences for years to come.
The multi-talented star is equally enjoying her acting journey on the television drama Isitha: The Enemy, where she portrays Thulile. One of the highlights of the role, she said, has been the opportunity to introduce and promote the Siswati language on a regional platform.
Despite successfully balancing music, acting and beauty, Zamo refuses to be boxed into a single career path.
“I like to call myself limitless because I don’t believe people should choose just one version of me. I can be a musician, an actress and a make-up artist all at once,” she said.
While she acknowledged that balancing multiple careers can sometimes be overwhelming, Zamo believes her faith keeps her grounded and allows everything to fall into place.
Looking ahead, she hinted at exciting developments for the Zamo brand but chose not to reveal details just yet, promising fans that even bigger projects are on the horizon.
She also thanked supporters, particularly those who travel to Johannesburg to book her make-up services simply to support a fellow Liswati, saying their unwavering love continues to inspire her journey.
