NSENGA – The Ministry of Tinkhundla and Administration has commissioned the construction of new Inkhundla offices for Nkhomiyahlaba Constituency.
Out of the 59 tinkhundla, Nkhomiyahlaba is the only one that has no offices and as a result, they have been using a room at a local clinic to hold their weekly meetings. This is the same room that Indvuna Yenkhundla Vuyiso Motsa currently uses to address requests and concerns from residents.
The good news, according to Nkhomiyahlaba Member of Parliament Mduduzi Dlamini, is that plans to construct the area’s Inkhundla offices are already in full swing by government.
“We are happy that the Ministry of Tinkhundla, in collaboration with Microprojects, has approved the construction of the Inkhundla centre. We are the only Inkhundla out of the 59, that has no such centre and the truth is that this is making out job really difficult because we are forced a room at a local clinic to hold our meetings every week. This is not ideal at all because a clinic, as we all know, has a different purpose, which is to treat patients. It is now all about counting the days before the construction of our inkhundla is completed, which should be soon,” the MP said.
He admitted though that this challenge was caused by the fact that Nkhomiyahlaba was only started operating as a constituency in the current parliament term. It has been confirmed that this used to be chiefdom under the Mbekelweni Constituency in the Manzini region.
