Lobamba, 16 February 2026 – World Rugby has donated rugby balls to the Eswatini Rugby Association during a handover press conference at the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association headquarters.
Dr. Darius Dlomo, CEO of the Eswatini Sports and Recreation Council, expressed appreciation for the donation and acknowledged the initiative taken by Eswatini Rugby to request the support. “We are grateful to World Rugby for this generous gesture. I encourage the Association to use rugby not only as a game, but as a tool for development and social impact,” he said.
Maxwell Jele, CEO of the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association, also thanked World Rugby for its contribution to growing rugby in the Kingdom.
The ceremony included the Eswatini Rugby President and his executive team, who committed to expanding rugby programmes nationwide, reinforcing the sport’s potential to foster community development.
Together, officials stressed the importance of sport as a platform for social and developmental initiatives in Eswatini.
