Mbabane – The Eswatini Epilepsy Organisation has opened registrations for the 10th Yellow Epilepsy Charity Half Marathon, set for February 7, 2026, at Lobamba next to Somhlolo National Stadium, promising cash prizes across all race categories.
Director Abraham Ntshalintshali said the event brings together athletes and the community to raise awareness about epilepsy, combat stigma, and raise funds for the planned Epilepsy Centre at Sikhuphe.
Racers can choose from a 21 kilometre half marathon, a 10 kilometre race, or a 5 kilometre fun run, all starting at 6am from the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association premises. The 21 kilometre route heads towards Nkhanini with water stations at Sitjeni Junction, Mahlanya Road, Bethany, Lozitha Y Junction, Lozitha Bridge, and along the D38 at Elangeni. The 10 kilometre route passes Parliament, Nkhanini, and Mashibini to the American Embassy, while the 5 kilometre course is supported along the D38.
Entry fees are E200 for the 21 kilometre, E170 for the 10 kilometre, and E140 for the 5 kilometre. Winners of the 21 kilometre category in both men’s and women’s races will take home E5000, with second and third place earning E3000 and E2000. The 10 kilometre category winners receive E3000, and other age and distance categories also have cash prizes.
Participants must register in advance and provide proof of age where required. Youths aged 10 to 16 through to grand masters aged 60 to 90 can take part, while foreign athletes need clearance from their national federations. Registrations are open at the Eswatini Epilepsy Organisation offices at the DPM’s Office in Mbabane, The Fitness Zone Gym in Manzini, or via the organisation’s MoMo account on 7855 4457, after which organisers will follow up to complete registration.
Ntshalintshali said the marathon is more than a race, offering a platform for education, solidarity, and support for people living with epilepsy.
